FAQs

If you can't find what you are looking for then feel free to contact us and we will get back you as soon as we can.

Do you have experience with neurodivergent learners?

This is our specialism. We have been working with neurodivergent learners for the past 20 years. We understand the unique barriers and challenges for those with neurodivergent brains and we are here to help. Our our children are autistic and have ADHD, Indy is an adult AuDHDer with a wealth of personal and professional experience. We know that every child is different, please drop us a line with any questions you have. Our experience is both with children in our Forest School session, smaller intervention group and we also specialise in supporting adults through their Forest School training.

Do you offer trial Forest School sessions?

On our Forest School sessions we do not offer trials. We know it's hard to commit to something when you aren't quite sure if it right for you which is why we try to offer so much information on this website. Our home educators and preschool session can be booked as one off sessions and we also run sessions in the holidays which are a good chance to give it a try and see if it is a good fit.

How old does my child need to be to attend Forest School?

Lots of toddlers start when they are comfortable on their feet at around 18 months but we often have babies come along with just their parents and immerse themselves in the woods and the community that meets there every week. We start charging for younger siblings when they are 18 months and there is a sibling discount on our termly Forest School sessions.

How much is each session?

Each session varies and the prices are clearly listed on the booking form.

Where do I go and what do I bring?

On your first term when you sign up you will receive a link to a kit list and instructions on where to go.

Does the session take place if it is raining?

Absolutely! Some of our most memorable and exciting sessions have been in the rain. We only cancel for weather if we assess the risk to be too high, for example, in the case of gale-force winds or thunder and lightning. Your safety always comes first; we will tell you if this happens.

Can I get a refund if I can't make it?

No, we cannot offer refunds in these circumstances. We have to pay for staff, location, equipment etc so we do not offer refunds. If you have booked an event then there will be a refund window where you can cancel via eventbrite.

Do I get a refund if you cancel a session?

If we cancel due to weather we do not offer a refund, we made this decision as it helps us to feel like we can cancel without it impacting on our finances. If we do cancel, however, you are welcome to come to another session that week to make up for it if we have one available.

Do I need a level 2 qualification in forest school before I can do my Level 3 leader training?

No, as long as you hold the required entry qualifications you can go straight to level 3. You can find the minimum requirements on the Cambium booking form.

Do you offer CPD to schools and nurseries?

Yes we do, drop us a line and tell us what you are after and we will see if we can help. We can offer CPD on accessing the outdoors, the outdoors and supporting mental health in schools, outdoor play, writing risk assessments for the outdoors and a whole range of other exciting opportunities. We specialise in diversity and inclusion outdoors, we have a wealth of experience, knowledge and training in this area.

Do you offer CPD in diversity and inclusion outdoors?

Yes we do, drop us a line and tell us what you are after and we will see if we can help.

In the past we have offered training on neurodivergent learners outdoors, autism and Forest School, transgender inclusion, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, ADHD and Forest School.

I am thinking about training as a Forest School Leader, can I come along and observe a session?

Usually yes, please drop us a line  and we will find a suitable session for you to come to meet us.

Can I bring an extra adult along to a session as a one off?

Yes of course, we will just need to add them to your medical form at the start of the session.

We no longer wish to attend our sessions, how do we leave?

At the end of each term you will be sent an invoice for the next term. On this there is a link to fill in a form to give your notice to leave. We will be sad to see you go!
